Back in the early 1980’s, a book called “Color Me Beautiful” hit the shelves – and I was completely enthralled. I begged my mother to come along to get our seasonal analysis done, and soon I was sitting under bright lights, draped in swatches of fabric. The verdict? TRUE WINTER – clear bold and highly saturated colors. For years, I wore those winter shades, convinced they were “my colors” but when I would look at photos, something always felt… off. Was it my hair? My makeup? Did I need more blush? I could never quite figure it out.
Fast forward 35 years – I decided to have my colors re-analyzed. This time I was typed a Soft
Autumn. The moment I started wearing the Soft Autumn palette, it was like a lightbulb went
off. My skin looked fresh, my eyes brighter – and I didn’t even need as much make up to feel
good. The right colors did the work for me.
Today, I live (and style) by my Soft Autumn Palette, though I’ll admit, I’ll never give up my black
clothes. And that’s okay – you can still wear black, and I can show you how!
A prettier hue
Before launching A Prettier Hue, I spent years working as an interior designer curating spaces
where color, light and texture came together in harmony. Over time I realized my favorite part of the process was helping people express themselves- so I shifted my focus from decorating
rooms to revealing the beauty within you.
Today I use my design background and knowledge in color theory and formal training from SciArt and Your Natural Design In color analysis to help clients uncover the hues that highlight their natural features and enhance their personal style. Whether you are refreshing your
wardrobe, redefining your image or simply exploring your next chapter, I’m here to help you
show up as the prettiest you-inside and out.
